CMH Publishing started due to our newfound love of coloring. For me, Kelli, it was a great way to unwind and forget about everything. The rest of the family loves crafting these cute designs across many different aesthics.
Often, I am confronted with coloring being for kids. No coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! This simple yet engaging activity has gained popularity over the past few years among adults, teens, and even seniors. There's something for everyone, from intricate mandalas to humorous, clean swear word coloring books. Whether you’re looking for a way to de-stress, express creativity, or just have some fun, coloring is an enjoyable activity with numerous benefits.
A Creative Escape for Kids and Adults
For children, coloring is a key part of development, helping them improve fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and color recognition. But adults can benefit just as much! Many people turn to color as a creative escape from their daily routine. It allows the mind to focus on something simple yet fulfilling, which can be incredibly therapeutic.
A Natural Stress Reliever
Life can be hectic, and finding ways to unwind is essential. Studies have shown that coloring can affect the brain similarly to meditation. When you color, your mind relaxes, helping to lower stress and anxiety. Focusing on coloring patterns, shapes, and colors lets you be present in the moment, giving your brain a break from worries.
Boosting Mental Well-Being
Coloring also enhances mental well-being by stimulating creativity and improving concentration. It can be a great way to take a break from screens and engage in a mindful activity. Many adults enjoy coloring books designed specifically for them, such as motivational quote coloring pages, intricate nature scenes, or even funny menopause sayings!
A Social or Solo Activity
Coloring can be both a solitary and a social activity. Some people enjoy coloring alone, finding it a peaceful way to unwind at the end of the day. Others enjoy coloring with friends, family, or in community groups. Coloring parties have even become popular, where people gather with their favorite coloring books and supplies for a fun and relaxing time together.
A Hobby for Any Skill Level
One of the best things about coloring is that anyone can do it! There’s no pressure to be an artist—pick up some crayons, markers, or colored pencils and start filling in the pages. Whether you’re a child enjoying a simple picture book or an adult tackling a detailed mandala, coloring is a timeless, accessible activity that brings joy to all ages.
So grab your coloring supplies and start filling your world with color—it’s fun, therapeutic, and for everyone!
